Conditions & Treatments

What we evaluate and how we treat it

The Neurogenesis Project is a direct-care neurology practice led by Sean C. Orr, M.D., a fellowship-trained neurologist, and Dr. Drew Edwards, our Chief Clinical Officer. Every treatment plan starts with a neurological evaluation, and the therapies below are used only when that evaluation supports them.

Medical care is delivered at our St. Marys, Georgia office; neurocoaching is also available in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Not sure where you fit? Schedule an appointment and we will tell you whether we can help.

Conditions

Problems people bring to us, and what the evaluation looks for.

Memory Loss & Cognitive Decline

Imaging, biomarkers and neuropsychological testing to find why memory is slipping, then a plan built on those findings.

Alzheimer’s Prevention & Early Intervention

Blood biomarkers, APOE genotyping and metabolic work for people with a family history, mild cognitive impairment or early symptoms.

Traumatic Brain Injury & Concussion

Evaluation and treatment for lingering effects of concussion and TBI, including headaches, fog, sleep and mood changes.

Stroke Recovery

Neurological follow-up after stroke from a neurologist with fellowship training in vascular neurology.

Long COVID Clinic: Brain Fog

A neurological workup for persistent cognitive symptoms after COVID-19.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS)

Looking for neuroinflammatory and metabolic contributors to fatigue that standard labs miss.

MS & Neuroinflammation Treatment

Adjunctive care alongside, not instead of, disease-modifying therapy.

Headache & Migraine

Diagnosis and treatment of chronic headache, including procedural options.

Peripheral Neuropathy

Finding the cause of numbness, burning or weakness in the hands and feet.

Chronic Pain

A neurological approach to central sensitization, CRPS and post-concussive pain.

Brain Fog Treatment

Brain fog is a symptom with a cause. The evaluation looks for the metabolic, sleep, hormonal or inflammatory driver behind it.

Treatment-Resistant Depression

A neurological workup when antidepressants have not worked: imaging, inflammation, hormones, sleep and metabolic labs.

Anxiety: A Neurological Approach

Looking at the brain circuits, autonomic state and medical contributors behind anxiety that keeps coming back.

Executive Health Program

Baseline brain benchmarking and a plan for professionals who want to protect and sharpen performance.

Memory Loss Evaluation

A structured workup for new or worsening forgetfulness: history, exam, cognitive testing, labs and imaging.

Multiple Sclerosis

Neurological follow-up and adjunctive care for MS, coordinated with your MS specialist.

Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus

Evaluation for the treatable triad of gait change, memory loss and bladder urgency.

Hydrocephalus

Imaging review and neurological assessment of enlarged ventricles and CSF flow problems.

Dizziness & Vertigo

Sorting inner-ear, brain and blood-pressure causes of dizziness, with a plan for each.

Imbalance & Gait Disorders

Why walking has changed: neuropathy, vestibular, cerebellar and other neurological causes.

Numbness & Tingling

Finding where along the nerve pathway the problem starts, from the spine to the hands and feet.

Sports Concussion

Concussion evaluation and return-to-play or return-to-learn decisions based on objective testing.

Veterans’ Brain Health

Evaluation of blast exposure, TBI and overlapping PTSD symptoms, coordinated with VA care.

PTSD & the Brain

A neurological look at how trauma changes the brain, alongside your mental health providers.

Insomnia & Sleep Disorders

Neurological causes of poor sleep and how disrupted sleep affects memory and mood.

Sleep Apnea & the Brain

What untreated sleep apnea does to cognition, and how treating it protects the brain.

Persistent Fatigue

A neurological workup for fatigue that has outlasted rest and normal labs.

Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia as a disorder of central pain processing, with a treatment plan to match.

Burnout & Cognitive Recovery

Measuring what chronic stress has done to attention and memory, then rebuilding it.
